With ESF Les Menuires you can start the process to becoming a qualified ski instructor with one of the biggest ski schools worldwide.
In the heart of the 3 Valleys you will have privileged access to the Olympic Stadium, which is the official centre to take the Technical Test and the Eurotest.

Once your training is officially underway, you can integrate yourself with the team at ESF Les Menuires as a trainee.
Conditions of entry:
- You must be at least 17 years old
- You must be a very good level of alpine skiing
- You must have a good physical condition for intensive sports training.
The ESF ACADEMY includes:
- Ski room with optimised material for preparation (toning and sharpening)
- Video analysis to analyse weaknesses to correct them,
- Practice tests every week on the Olympic Stadium with an official starter
- Access to Les Menuires sports center to improve your fitness,
- A soft shell outfit,
- The lift pass 3 Vallées.

ESF ACADEMY OFFERS SPECIFIC TRAINING FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE TECHNICAL TEST AND FOR THE PREPARATION OF EUROTEST.
The State Diploma of Alpine Skiing allows to teach with remuneration, aspects of downhill skiing and related activities (including snowboarding) in all classes.
1st step: Obtain the technical Access Test
- The "Technical Access Test" is mandatory to start ski instructor training. It is a special slalom event where your recorded time will have to be less than or equal to the base time plus 20% (men) or 25% (women). This test is organised by the regional and departmental directorates of youth and sports.
- Important: You must be 17 years of age at the start of the technical test of access.
- The certificate of success is valid for 3 years and will allow you to enroll in the preparatory cycle.
- The ESF ACADEMY training centre offers a specific technical test training program.
2nd step: Become a ski instructor 'trainee' or 'ski stagiaire'
- The preparatory cycle lasts 2 weeks and is carried out under the responsibility of ENSA.
- The content: Technical, theoretical, practical, pedagogical and security elements necessary for teaching in educational situations.
- Assessment exam: Practical presentation of teaching presentation + technical demonstration + technical descent + internship note.
- Success allows the delivery of the training book consisting of 3 training times (the 1st training time is valid for 3 years). This training booklet authorises you to supervise against remuneration with the status of trainee in schools of ski approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sport. Supervision in the form of an internship subject to an agreement under the responsibility of an educational advisor.
What to do first:
- Get the Eurotest: This is a technical event in "Giant Slalom" format. The time achieved must be less than or equal to the base time plus 20% (male) or 25% (female).
- The ESF ACADEMY training centre offers specific training to enter and pass the Eurotest.
