“The sport fetches the fear to dominate, the fatigue to triumph over it, the difficulty to overcome it.”
Originally from Menuires, Jean-Louis Stéphane has been a ski instructor for 41 seasons. He turned towards this job after many years of competitions, pushed by his desire to share his passion for skiing.
To teach you the ski techniques at best, he is aware that each person is different and that it is necessary to adapt to the level of each one as well as reassure them. According to him, the ESF passes on the ski apprenticeship, the pleasure of sharing and the ski school has qualified instructors.
Living near Menuires since his childhood, Jean-Louis Stéphane has been skiing there since the age of 6 and participates to the life of the resort. Since his beginnings, he loves skiing for the vast spaces, the slopes as well as the ever-evolving technique. Thanks to his competition years, he had the privilege of skiing in the United States, in Austria, in Italy, in Germany and in Switzerland.
Rather atypical, Jean-Louis Stéphane owns a boilermaker diploma and he has worked as a trader in the selling of ski equipment. His other passions are bicycling and informatics.
His best teaching memories are when he accompanied the competition training courses, the training of a japanese couple to become instructors and the off-piste outings. His favorite slope is the Masse, Vallon du Lou, La Pointe du Bouchet,
